Hello, myArt

A Conceptual graphic creative

In 2008, a young man named Johnny found himself immersed in the world of graphic artwork. His journey began in an internet cafe where he worked as an attendant – Anvic Internet Cafe. It was there that a colleague introduced him to the enchanting world of Photoshop. MyArt was captivated by the possibilities this tool held – he gaped at how his colleague could replace an animal’s eye with his own, and the image manipulation seemed nothing short of magical.

With each passing day, Johnny’s fascination grew into a passionate pursuit. He devoted himself to practice, driven by a desire to master this artistic tool. The turning point came when he was tasked with creating the invitation layout for his sister’s wedding. The praise and amazement of his family spurred him on, and soon word of his talents spread through referrals from friends of friends. Johnny continued to serve his community with his creative designs, even while facing the challenges of pursuing a college education.

However, life had other plans, and Johnny had to pause his college education and venture into various jobs – from grocery stores to factories – to make ends meet. Yet, throughout his varied experiences, his love for graphic design never wavered. His determination only grew stronger, and he found ways to continue honing his skills. Sneaking into his university’s computer lab, he utilized the oldest version of Photoshop available to him, designing stationary and exploring his creative prowess.

Stop, never!

The Turning Point

The turning point in Johnny’s journey arrived when he was finally able to purchase his own computer and an internet connection. He embarked on an online search that led him to a remarkable opportunity – he was hired as a protege artist by Azura Creatives, a graphic creative team based in Massachusetts, California. The world suddenly expanded for MyArt as he joined a team that closed deals with companies from various industries. He chose the name “MyArt” for himself, a name that would forever remind him of his humble beginnings and the relentless hard work he poured into honing his craft.

Networking and encouragement

Despite his initial excitement, challenges awaited MyArt in this new chapter. His first project involved creating a company logo, a task that proved to be more demanding than he had anticipated. His initial designs were met with rejection due to his designs looking-cluttered and messy in nature. Disappointment set in, but his team leader’s unwavering encouragement kept him going. Professional training and exposure to different creative minds refined his skills, although language barriers posed a considerable challenge.

It Paid off

Undeterred, MyArt faced a new project – designing logos for silverware products. Hopeful yet anxious, he submitted his creations for consideration. As the days passed, he received unexpected news – his design had been nominated for a rock-5 award, with stages leading up to the final selection. The journey was intense, but MyArt’s dedication paid off as his design progressed to the rock 3 stage. With silent prayers, he awaited the ultimate verdict, and to his delight, he received a congratulatory message – his design had been chosen. Yet, the process was far from over. He had to communicate his design concept to the client, a task that left him feeling nervous and overwhelmed. Thankfully, his team leader came to his aid, bridging the language barrier and securing the deal. This triumph became a turning point, inspiring MyArt to delve even deeper into his craft.

Dedication – drive!

Guided by online tutorials and instructional books, MyArt’s skills continued to flourish. His branding designs won multiple accolades, transforming his difficulties into strengths. He was welcomed into the fold of Azura Creatives as an official member, a moment that filled him with immense joy. His client base expanded globally, reaching countries like the USA, Dubai, and Hong Kong. His first substantial paycheck of P45,000.00 pesos marked a milestone in his journey.

The struggle is real!

The arrival of PayPal funds prompted MyArt to fulfill his dream of completing his college education. He pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Arts in Communication, juggling studies with his online work. The road was tough, especially during the major subjects, but MyArt’s determination prevailed. He then became the Schools Graphic Creative in their trailblazer student organization body.

During his college days, he was also featured in one of the publishing houses in Cagayan de Oro, showcasing his artwork in graphics – Mindanao Daily, a News Print house. As thesis work piled up, sleepless nights became the norm, yet he persevered and defended his thesis with flying colors. As a new door opens, another closes. MyArt decided to part ways with Azura Creatives during his fourth year due to conflicting commitments and time requirements.

Armed with his degree, MyArt ventured into the advertising world – a dream he had nurtured throughout his college years. He secured a position as a graphic layout artist at an agency in Cagayan de Oro – Caerus Arion Trading Corp (CAT Advertising). As he settled into his role, months of dedicated work unfolded, during which he took on a range of responsibilities. These included managing multiple accounts, handling administration tasks, overseeing inventory, collecting reports for billboards, and participating in meetings. A deep love for his work ignited his passion further.

MyArt works get noticed!

MyArt’s thirst for knowledge remained unquenchable, pushing him to pursue a Master’s degree while juggling agency work and online clients in 2018. Even amid his agency commitments, MyArt’s drive remained unwavering. His projects extended beyond the agency’s walls, and he garnered the attention of Skintimate Beauty Lounge, an aesthetic clinic in his city. Unexpectedly, his work managed to capture the discerning eye of Ms. Cielon Alaba, the CEO of Angel Touch Philippines.

This marked a pivotal moment as MyArt’s designs catapulted into the online sphere. Brands began to gravitate toward his unique creations, and his workload rapidly expanded. This upward trajectory eventually led him to simultaneously collaborate with four different brands. Later, mid-year of 2019, MyArt decided to leave the office and focus on his services in the online world as a Graphic Artist.

With dedication and focus, he completed his Master’s in 2020. By this point, MyArt had crafted over 300 product labels and countless branding designs across various industries.
